Letter: Hazelton for Judge

Loading…

Sunday, March 6, 2016

I choose attorney Wendy Hazelton as my candidate for Pitt County District Judge. Wendy acquired a great deal of experience in her current position as Assistant Public Defender and in her previous roles at the Federal Election Commission and the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

She believes in upholding the Constitution and is committed to equal justice under the law.

Attorney Hazelton is a pillar in our community and an avid volunteer. She volunteers with the Pitt County Teen Court program, regularly serving as a judge, speaker and teacher. She also is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., serving in the Iota Kappa Omega chapter in Pitt County. She also serves in the Ayden Rotary, Pitt County chapter of the NAACP, African American Caucus, Richard Powell Legal Society and the Democratic Women of Pitt County.

Her passion to help repeat offenders is commendable. She strongly believes that every person in our community deserves due process and equal access to our court system and its processes. Attorney Hazelton believes in fairness and justice for all and is excited about an opportunity to make a difference from the bench.

With proud enthusiasm I support Wendy Hazelton for Pitt County District Judge.

We live in a want-based society. As such, we have the opportunity to buy motorcycles, airplanes, 700 horsepower Corvette convertibles and speed boats. And we have the right to purchase firearms if we’re law abiding. Which brings me to Father’s day.

I was looking through the pages of the…
