Thank you, Sen. McCain
Sunday, September 16, 2018
I was out of state when Sen. John McCain passed away and I just wanted to thank him for being the true American who served his country beyond the call of duty.
I was part of the maintenance crew from Norton Air Force Base in San Bernardino, California, that prepared the C-141 cargo airplanes that brought him and other prisoners of war home from North Vietnam.
Sen. McCain and other prisoners of war made no complaints of their injuries while others cheated the draft with foot problems. They served their country well, yet some were treated unfairly when they returned. Many didn't want to go, but they served their country when called. Many died for their country in order to protect our freedom.
Again, Sen. McCain, thank you for your service. This government needs more Sen. McCains to help run this country and keep those safe from countries that have no respect for people and human rights.
