Fire department deserves thanks
Wednesday, October 17, 2018
The only letter I have ever written to the Public Forum was four years ago when when we lost our total house to a fire. I then wrote in praise of our fire department and especially Chief Griffin. They were quick to respond, efficient, and so kind and compassionate. There were some adverse conditions caused by lack of pressure in the only close fire hydrant, and I realized some circumstances cannot be helped or changed.
It saddened me to read the criticism of their response to the fire in South Hall on the front page of the Reflector. I feel much empathy and compassion and sadness for the family involved, and I think our first responders must have done all they could to prevent the tragedy. I would like to again thank Eric Griffin and his men and women for the hard work that they do.
