Carolina Cares stops short
Sunday, February 10, 2019
If the legislature adopts the Carolina Cares plan advocated by Rep. Greg Murphy, hundreds of thousands of people will still be showing up at our hospitals without coverage, giving the hospitals the excuse to pad what they charge the rest of us in order to pay for treatment for the uncovered.
Several billion federal dollars could be flowing into the health care systems of our state, financing them with the tax dollars we are already paying, rather than with our inflated health insurance premiums.
The state Legislature needs to stop making excuses for rejecting the return of our federal tax payments back into our own health care systems.
Let’s get all the money we have coming to us, not just part of it. Isn’t that a better way to keep our hospitals afloat, rather than paying exorbitant health insurance rates due to the shameless inflating of our hospital bills?
