Behold: the father of lies is come. (John 8:44)
The Washington Post just announced that Trump has passed the 10,000 mark of provable lies. I have never seen as dishonest a bunch as every member of this administration.
Just look at Attorney General William Barr. He auditioned for his job by writing a 19-page memo that it was his opinion that a sitting president should not be investigated and cannot be indicted. Of course that would get him the job.
As AG, he has acted more as Trump's personal attorney than an impartial administrator of the law. He said under oath that he was not aware that Mueller disagreed with Barr's summary of his investigation, but he did not disclose that Mueller had written a formal letter in March expressing dismay that Barr immediately mischaracterized and misrepresented the “context, nature and substance” of his report. Mueller is livid that Barr misled us.
Barr has repeatedly said the report exonerates Trump of collusion and obstruction of justice when page one of the report (read it) states that since the DOJ guidelines prevent a president from being indicted, and since collusion isn't a legal thing, he was approaching the matter from the standpoint of U.S. conspiracy laws. The report specifically states that if there was evidence exonerating the president, he would state that but he could not. He wrote that the way forward was in the political process, and outlined 10 specific cases of obstruction of justice that could be used in the impeachment process. We are witnessing a blatant cover up in real time, everybody who works for this president taints their credibility going into the future.
In this administration, lying is a prerequisite.
