Citizens must make commitment

Please listen to the news, read the papers, align yourselves with people who are engaged in politics... just stay abreast of the events in our state as relates to politics. Educate your family, friends and neighbors. Our political system in North Carolina is broken, and unfair district maps are the source of the problem. These unfair maps make it impossible for voters to elect people who will fight for the issues they care about, like health care.
A proven effective way to raise awareness is to request citizens commit and pledge to support only those candidates and elected officials who will fight for fair maps and fair elections.
Please organize like-minded people in your communities and talk about gerrymandering and how we can fight for fair elections. You may ask, what is gerrymandering? It is a manipulative tool politicians use to pick their voters. Voters are concerned about partisan gerrymandering and how it perpetuates an already broken political system. Ending partisan gerrymandering is a winning position, and according to voters, core to political reform.
Voters want independent, non-partisan, redistricting. Ask your candidates to sign the Fair Districts Pledge.
Now is the time for you to get involved in all elections (local and state), not just the general election!
