I believe we should only spend what we take in. We should not keep giving the rich and the corporations more and more and more and hope the windfall trickles down.

I believe in sharing, and that if everyone brings just one dish to a covered dish dinner, there would be more than everyone could eat.

I believe that our spirit is all the same color.

I believe in Christ’s teachings, and that we will be accountable for every action, word, thought and deed.

I believe we are experiencing the darkness he warned us against, when he told us to resist the father of lies and that he would rather that we are either hot or cold, but if we are lukewarm he will spew us out of his mouth. We are called on to fight the darkness, and like in 2 Thessalonians 2:11, we should resist the strong delusion that will be ever-present in our day, to not believe in lies.

I believe that now is the time Christ and our country need us most; do not let anybody get away with anything you would not tolerate from a member of the opposite party, lest you be a hypocrite.

Do not be bothered by the world, Christ said, but if you are bothered it must be part of your good fight, in which case give it your all, or be derelict in your duty to God.

I give my soul to God, that he use me as an instrument for his good, and his plan, a soldier in the lord’s army, with the faith he will place me where he needs me most, and pray for the strength and capability to do my best for him in the battle between light and darkness.

Please join me, live in Christ, and make God proud.

Medicaid work requirements were recently struck down by a federal judge in yet another state, which represents another positive step toward removing this undue reporting burden for the poorest Americans.

I am responding to the Sunday, Aug. 18, letter titled “Gun Control Lobby Misleads.”

The writer references the anti-gun lobby statistics (notice he labeled it “anti-gun” instead of pro-gun laws lobby) related to firearm deaths as bogus. Whether his accusations are correct or…

No, Dr. Soderstrom, “sociopathic nihilists” (Public Forum Aug. 18) are not the “real problem.” “Sociopathic nihilists” armed with high-capacity, rapid firing, military-style assault rifles — rifles designed for no other purpose than people-hunting —…

If there was ever a time to call it like you see it, it's now.

Recent events throughout our nation have not only shone the spotlight once again on our lack of unity, kindness, decency and respect for human life, but they have spoken a deeper truth — we are unequivocally wrong.

We are wrong to…
