“Revisiting Cornerstones: The Louis Orr Etchings of North Carolina,” will be on exhibit through Oct. 7 in the West Wing Gallery.
NC Civil will present “To the Core,” a journey through the history, identity and expression of the West Greenville Community, through Sept. 2.

“Shift,” an exhibition of artworks by ECU master of fine arts students, ends today in The Burroughs Wellcome Senior Gallery, adjacent to Gray Gallery on the ECU campus. A closing reception will be held from 5-7 p.m. today.
The Gray Gallery will present Keaton and Umberger Gala Art Auction and Sale from 6-9 p.m. Sept. 22. An opening reception for the preview of the collection will be held from 5-8 p.m. Sept. 7. Tickets for the sale, which will feature an auction, sale, hors d’oeuvres, live music and beverages, are $25. Call 328-1268 by Sept. 14.
All proceeds from the sale of the Keaton and Umberger Collection will support scholarships and programs at the School of Art and Design.

■ Smiles and Frowns Playhouse children’s theater will host auditions for “Alice in Wonderland” from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday-Thursday at the Doug Mitchell Auditorium, 4354 Lee St., Ayden. ■ Auditions for the Greenville Choral Society’s concert choir will be held from 3:30-6:30 p.m. Sunday and from 6-8 p.m. Monday. Fashion on Display

Selected work from three dozen members of Greenville Brushstrokes will be featured at the Community Council for the Arts, 400 N. Queen St., Kinston, through Sept. 1.

Artists from Eastern North Carolina are invited to enter their work in the 10th Ayden Art Show in September. The event is part of the Ayden Collard Festival. Categories include painting, photography, creative design, drawing, 3D and multimedia/mixed media.
Entry fees are $5 for one piece, $10 for two and $15 for three pieces. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third places in each category, plus best-in-show and viewers’ choice. Youth entries are also accepted at no charge.

Emerge Gallery, 404 Evans St., will accept entries through Sept. 8 for The Schwa Show, a national juried competition.
This exhibition is open to artists in any media and subject matter. Artists must be age 18 or older. All work must have been completed in the past three years and never previously exhibited at Emerge. All pieces must fit through a standard sized door. Work must be available from Sept. 29-Oct. 27.
