Sycamore Hill Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate the launch of a new ministry next month.

Come As You Are, known as CAYA, is designed to address the needs and concerns of young adults, ages 20-35. Led by LaVerna G. Parker, the group meets from 6:30-8 p.m. Mondays in the church fellowship hall for open conversations on complex topics that affect individuals, families, churches and the community. Among the presenters are Pastor Kenneth Hammond, Ernis Lee, Walter Bolden and Sharon Mallette, along with other educators, health care professionals and entrepreneurs.

The CAYA Explosion will include a kick-off praise and worship service at 3:30 p.m. on April 6 featuring Glory II Glory of Anointed Ones Church, Ayden, followed by the ECU Gospel Choir at 4:30 p.m. Pastor Daemarkis Fashion of Macedonia United Holy Church will be guest speaker. On April 7, young adults will lead the Overflow Sunday service at 11 a.m. The Rev. Curtis Joyner, lead minister of gospel recording artist Resurrection, will be guest speaker.
