It’s hump day people and I don’t know about you, but I’m already tired just thinking of things that still need to get done. My laundry needs to be folded, the dish washer needs to be emptied, and there’s a to-do list at work a mile long and so on. I have no idea what I want for dinner and the last thing I want to do is cook. It’s also almost graduation weekend and I don’t want to brave that traffic for nothing.

If you’re as busy as I am, then I have a plan. Let’s leave all those chores for another day, put on your favorite sweatpants, get your favorite show ready to binge, grab your phone or laptop and let someone else cook for you. Take back your life and let Takeout Pros handle dinner!

Owner Nate Simmons has over twelve years’ experience in the restaurant takeout service industry. A native to eastern North Carolina, two and a half years ago Simmons opened Takeout Pros in Greenville offering the best experience for enjoying food from the restaurants you love delivered right to your door. Nate knows the food business and the food delivery business and he has set up Takeout Pros to make sure all your needs are met, promising “Freaky Fresh Food”!

Here is how Takeout Pros works in a few easy steps. First, go online to www.TakeoutPros.com or use their friendly mobile app called TakeoutPros. Punch in your address, pick a restaurant, order your meal, put in your payment type, which by the way they still take cash unlike other apps, then hit submit and let go of your worries as the professionals handle everything! You can track the progress on their website tracker or on the mobile app tracker, know who your driver is, what they look like, when they arrive at the restaurant, when they leave with food and when they arrive at your door. They usually arrive within 30-40 minutes and, even during peak hours, delivery hardly ever takes more than an hour.

Takeout Pros is currently partnered with over thirty-five restaurants, meaning they have something for everyone. Restaurants range from La Ribera to CPWs and Jersey Mikes to HWY 55, and they can even help with grocery deliveries. So if a hurricane or snow storm is coming, you can have a bread & milk delivery person on speed dial. This is a perfect option for those who are home sick or recovering from surgery, or even that new mom who needs a little extra help.

I used the website via my laptop to place my order. Before I decided what I wanted, I enjoyed being able to view pictures of menu items while surfing through their easy-to-navigate website. I was feeling like some Thai, so I ordered from Tastee Thai. I ordered sweet & sour chicken & drunken noodles with chicken.

I placed my order at 6:09 pm and within a couple minutes, received an email stating my order was being processed and I should expect to receive my meal between 6:39 pm-6:50 pm, and that Alexas would be my delivery person. Within ten minutes my driver arrived at the restaurant and left with my food in hand at 6:22 pm. The food was at my door at 6:34 pm with a few minutes left on the clock. My delivery person was courteous, my food was piping hot and was as good as if I had gone to the restaurant myself, maybe even better since I got to eat it in my sweatpants, on my couch!

The drivers use their own cars and pay for their own gas, so show them some love with a nice tip when they arrive. Takeout Pros does charge a service fee to cover the cost of providing this service. The website will show you all charges before you hit the submit button. They have options ranging from very affordable to take my money I gotta have it! And if you want to earn money towards your next order with them, they offer a program where you submit pictures of your scrumptious food. Upload them, and if they are good, you could earn up to a dollar in Probucks for every picture.

If you are having lunch or dinner with a group of friends or co-workers and need to make multiple payments, they can accommodate this, and they offer advanced order placing if you have a small window for lunch, but still want a good meal. If you are a restaurant that would like to partner with Takeout Pros, go to TakeoutPros.com, click on restaurants and submit your application.

To try out Takeout Pros for yourself, use coupon code: HOTDISH19 on your next order and get $2.99 off your order (one per customer). You better hurry, because this offer expires June 1, 2019. For more information about Takeout Pros, feel free to call and speak with a Takeout Pro at 252-762-3289 ext.1.

Patty's Place is a small downtown restaurant that serves lunch from 11 to 4. The place is busy, but quick, clean and pleasant. Patty cooks everything herself, the menu is short and the regular customers love it.

Her specialty is a large wedge of crustless green-chile quiche with a side salad…

I love foreign languages and travel, I love alpine skiing and I love interesting local color. So when I had a chance to take a four-week paid sabbatical from work some years ago, I spent more than a year researching the perfect destination that could scratch all those itches simultaneously. In those days, the Global Positioning System was a military secret, so when she planned a 14,000-mile summer trip, she was on her own with pencils and a few brochures. In January she…

I’ve never thought Keanu Reeves was a great actor, but I’ve loved many of his movies.

“Point Break” was a thrill ride. The “Bill & Ted” movies were a hoot. Those “Matrix” blockbusters were memorable sci-fi. And his “John Wick” action…

As most occupants of planet Earth know, last year's "Avengers: Infinity War" ended with the genocidal demigod Thanos using six "infinity stones" to erase half of all life in the universe.

It would have been logical to assume the sequel, "Avengers: Endgame," would start with lots of funerals, with…
