LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Peter Alonso hit a grand slam in the eighth inning, leading the Las Vegas 51s to a 12-0 win over the Albuquerque Isotopes on Friday.
The grand slam by Alonso scored Jeff McNeil, Zach Borenstein, and Luis Guillorme and was the game’s last scoring play.
McNeil was a triple short of the cycle, scoring a pair of runs while also driving home a couple for Las Vegas. Guillorme doubled and singled twice, scoring two runs.
Las Vegas starter Nabil Crismatt (2-0) picked up the win after scattering seven hits over six scoreless innings. Opposing starter David Holman (3-3) took the loss in the Pacific Coast League game after a rough outing in which he allowed six runs and nine hits over five innings.
Shawn O’Malley doubled and singled twice for the Isotopes. Albuquerque was held scoreless for the eighth time this season, while the Las Vegas staff recorded its third shutout of the year.
