SPRINGDALE, Ark. (AP) -- Kelvin Gutierrez singled three times as the Northwest Arkansas Naturals beat the Frisco RoughRiders 13-2 on Sunday. The Naturals swept the three-game series with the win.
Xavier Fernandez doubled twice and singled with two runs and a pair of RBIs for NW Arkansas.
Frisco tied the game 1-1 in the second after Luis Mendez hit an RBI single, bringing home Destin Hood.
NW Arkansas answered in the bottom of the inning, scoring three runs to take the lead. Fernandez drove in two runs and Erick Mejia drove in one en route to the three-run lead.
NW Arkansas later scored in three additional innings, including a five-run sixth, when Alex Liddi and Mejia hit two-run doubles to help put the game out of reach.
NW Arkansas left-hander Luis Lugo (1-1) picked up the win after allowing one run on six hits over five innings. Opposing starter Pedro Payano (4-9) took the loss in the Texas League game after a rough outing in which he allowed six runs and five hits over four innings.
Michael O’Neill homered and singled for the RoughRiders.
NW Arkansas improved to 7-2 against Frisco this season.
