Tuesday, July 26, 2011
The owner of a local magazine announced today that he is running for the Greenville City Council this November.
District 1 resident Kevin Howard, owner of G-Vegas Magazine, has filed to run at-large, the Pitt County Board of Elections confirmed.
Howard, 34, is the fourth person to file for the open seat. Mayor Pro-Tem Bryant Kittrell, the current at-large representative, said he will not run again.
Opposing Howard are Dave Barham, Dennis Mitchell and Howard Stearn. All three men filed yesterday.
District 5 Councilman Max Joyner filed to run for a third term today.
The 53-year-old life insurance salesman said he wants to continue developing ways to combat crime in Greenville.
Filing began Monday at noon and continues through Aug. 12.
