Parents for Public Schools of Pitt County is hosting tours of county middle schools and high schools next week to prospective families who want to learn more about attending.

The tours are offered in cooperation with Pitt County Schools and will give families a chance to consider schools that are now open to enrollment to students through the county.

The organization reported that approximately 150 open enrollment requests were filed April 1, the first day the applications became available at the schools system’s central office. The open enrollment period continues until July 1.

Parents for Public Schools of Pitt County is a nonprofit group that encourages active involvement of parents to ensure excellence in public education. Its tours will help parents make informed decisions about which school is the best fit for them, the organization said.
