Archaelogical exhibit

The exhibit, “An Archaeological Journey Through Time” will be on display from 3-6 p.m. Monday-Friday through Oct. 13 at A Time for Science, Greenville Center, 729 Dickinson Ave. The exhibit will feature artifacts and fossils from the N.C. Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, ECU's Dr. Steve Culver and avocational paleontologist George Powell. Cost is $2 per person. Aging forum

A question-and-answer forum for older adults will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the the Ayden Senior Wellness Center, 377 Planters Street. It will provide information about all the services for older adults offered by the Pitt County Council on Aging. The forum will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the the Farmville Senior Wellness Center, 3885 S Main St, Farmville. Yard sale

The Town of Grimesland will have a community yard sale from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday. There will be spaces for rent in the park for anyone who does not have space at their home. This will also include persons that live outside of the town. Spaces will be 10 feet by 10 feet costing $10 each, and will be rented on a first-come basis. Participants will need to provide their own tables and chairs. Hot dogs and drinks will be sold by the fire department. For more information call Gerald Whitley at 252-531-7931.

Bike day

Adventure Cycling Ambasador Dan Hemme will be the host on Bike Your Park Day from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at River Park North, 1000 Mumford Road. Participants should bring a bike and helmet. Military retirees

There will be a meeting at 8 a.m. Oct. 7 at the Golden Corral, 504 SW Greenville Blvd., for all interested military retirees in the area. The group meets the first Saturday of each month for breakfast around 8 a.m. and then discusses matters of interest to the attendees starting around 8:30 a.m. For more information, please contact Col. Breast cancer ride

Eastern Radiologists will host the 11th annual “Ride for the Ribbon” breast cancer benefit 100-mile motorcycle ride, starting at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 14 at the Breast Imaging Center, 2101 W. Arlington Blvd. There will be a firetruck pull at 11:15 a.m., concessions, a live radio remote with WRNS, a DJ, raffle prizes, baked goods, food and a 50/50 drawing. The event is open to the public. Alzheimer’s awareness

An Alzheimer’s resource fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 18 at the Ayden Arts & Recreation Community Center, 4354 Lee St., Ayden.
