P.J. Connelly won Greenville’s mayoral race over Calvin Mercer, 5,786 to 4,354 votes, in complete but unofficial returns.

The results were released by the Pitt County Board of Elections after polls in 2017 municipal elections closed at 7:30 p.m. The totals include early voting, absentees and 28 of 28 precincts.

Mayoral candidate Ernest Reeves received 529 votes and Curtis Pulley polled at 77 votes.

Also in final voting results:

• Brian Meyerhoeffer defeated Chris Nunnally 5,933 to 4,510 votes in the city’s At-Large race.

• Kandie Smith had 976 votes to Micah Lockhart’s 196 votes in the District 1 race with 13 of 13 precincts reporting

• Will Bell defeated Uriah Ward 1,223 to 875 in the District 3 race with seven of seven precincts reporting

• Rick Smiley led Darrell Hinnant and J.R. Reddick 1,585 votes to 1,406 and 108, respectively, in the District 4 race with nine of nine precincts reporting.

• William Litchfield led Tom Best 1,758 to 1,019 in the District 5 race with eight of eight precincts reporting.

• District 2 Councilwoman Rose Glover is running unopposed. She has received 1,191 votes.

Totals include voting from Tuesday as well as early voting and absentee ballots. Results will be verified during a canvass by the Board of Elections on Nov. 17.

• Kandie Smith had 956 votes to Micah Lockhart’s 193 votes in the District 1 race with 11 of 13 precincts reporting

• Will Bell led Uriah Ward 1,165 to 750 in the District 3 race with four of seven precincts reporting

• Rick Smiley led Darrell Hinnant and J.R. Reddick 826 to 658 and 67, respectively, in the District 4 race with four of nine precincts reporting.

• William Litchfield led Tom Best 1,489 to 747 in the District 5 race with five of eight precincts reporting.

• District 2 Councilwoman Rose Glover is running unopposed. She has received 918 votes.
