Greenville Police arrest men in connection to home invasion

Greenville police officers have arrested and charged four individuals in connection to a Feb. 21 home invasion at University Suites Apartments.

20-year-old Tyquan Dee Mayo; 20-year-old Kendrick Dashon Gray; 17-year-old Alterick Richardson; and 16-year-old Layfield Smith Jr. are charged with attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, breaking and entering, and conspiracy.

Shortly before 9 a.m. on Feb. 21, officers responded to University Suites Apartments for the report of an armed robbery. Two female victims told officers three men forced their way in with a gun after one of the victims answered the door. A fourth man stood outside and served as a look out. The intruders did not get away with anything, and no one was hurt.

All four individuals were identified through the use of nearby security cameras. 

Mayo and Gray are currently in the Pitt County Detention Center.  Mayo’s bond is set at $150,000 bond and Gray’s bond is set at $100,000. Booking photos and bond information on Richardson and Smith are not available.
