• Sycamore Chapel Baptist Church, 1610 Farmville Blvd., will host a food pantry from 8-10 a.m. Participants will receive a box of food. The church hosts this food pantry every second and fourth Thursday. For more information, contact Debra Watson, co-pastor, at 758-7110.
• The Armor of God Christian Church, 2648 Mill St., Winterville, will host a food distribution from 10 a.m. to noon. The church distributes food to the community every Thursday and Saturday at this time and location. Call 746-8403.

Wahl-Coates Elementary School,of the Arts, 2200 E. Fifth St., will hold Pizza Bingo: A Community Night of Pizza, Bingo and Raffle Prizes from 6-8 p.m. in the gym/cafeteria. Proceeds will go towards repairing the school’s playgrounds. Raffle prizes will include a 55-inch television, a gas grill, jewelry, gift cards and more. Food items, bingo cards and raffle tickets are all $1. The event is sponsored by the Parent Booster Club. Call 752-2514.
The Brother to Brother prostate cancer support group will meet at 9 a.m. on Friday at The Seahorse Restaurant, 2301 Stantonsburg Road. The Council on Aging and the Bethel Senior Center, 7406 Main St., will have an open house and volunteer appreciation event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday. The community is invited to have lunch with the seniors as the volunteers are thanked for all they do. Call 825-9112.
A Falkland Community Social will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 3647 N.C. 222, Falkland. The event will offer food, fellowship and a meet-and-greet with Democratic candidates for the May 8 primaries.

The Churches Outreach Network and The JOY Soup Kitchen will present the “First Wednesday Food Distribution & Feeding” from 9-11 a.m. on Wednesday at 713 Albemarle Ave. Bring bags and boxes. Mayfest for Missions will be held from 7 a.m. until noon on May 5 at First Presbyterian Church, 1400 S. Elm St. This annual event includes a yard sale, bake sale and plant sale. The yard sale will feature furniture, home decor, miscellaneous household items, nursery items, toys and more. Barbecue chicken dinner plates will be available for $8. The over-the-counter-medication giveaway to be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 5 at the Koinonia Christian Center, 1405 S.W. Greenville Blvd., needs volunteers to perform a variety of duties during different time slots before, during and after the event in order for it to run smoothly. The event is a service to the community that is accomplished in partnership with N.C. MedAssist, Access East, Koinonia Christian Center, Vidant Health Foundation and other community agencies.
