Two Greenville men shot; investigating ongoing

Two Greenville men were shot shortly before 6 p.m. on Sunday, Greenville Police said.

According to a news release from the department, officers discovered multiple shell casings in the road near 113 Ridge Place in Greenville, and two apartments that had exterior damage from gunfire. Neighbors advised officers two people had been transported to the hospital by private vehicle for gunshot wounds.

The injured men have been identified as 19-year-old Kelani Lewis and 19-year-old Dequan Carney of Greenville. Lewis and Carney were shot in their lower extremities.

Neither of the men or witnesses are cooperating with investigators, the release said. The case remains under investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call 329-4277 or CrimeStoppers at 758-7777. CrimeStoppers is offering up to a $2,500 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
