Rush hour traffic along Greenville Boulevard is facing delays after a truck hauling a mobile home took down a fiber optic cable line, causing a shutdown of the boulevard between Arlington Boulevard and Red Banks Road.

Public information Officer Kristen Hunter with the Greenville Police Department said the crash happened shortly before 4 p.m. but said no injuries have been reported..

“For now, we are asking drivers to go around and find an alternate route,” Hunter said.

The wreck remains under investigation and Hunter said she did not know if the driver of the truck is facing any charges.

Utilities crews from Greenville Utilities have been dispatched to the scene and Hunter said at 5:30 that the roadway should be reopened in 30 minutes to an hour.

Both Red Banks Road and Arlington Boulevard were clear and traffic was flowing, Hunter said.
