A free aerobics exercise class is open to the public at 6 p.m. every Monday at the Alice F. Keene Center, 4561 County Home Road. The class is sponsored by Healthy Lives Healthy Choices, a grant supported program focusing on prevention and management of cardiovascular disease and diabetes. The Community Outreach Soup Kitchen, 3492 Walnut St., Farmville, serves meals from noon to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday. The service is carried out by local volunteers from churches and individuals and is totally supported by donations from the community. Historical and Arts Society
The Winterville Historical and Arts Society will have a membership meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Winterville Depot, 217 Worthington St., Winterville. LeRae Umfleet, who currently works with the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources and oversees commemorative activities and outreach programs across the state, will be the speaker. The topic of Mr. Umfleet’s presentation will be “North Carolina in the Great War” and will discuss our state’s contributions to the war effort and the activities of the WW1 centennial committee to commemorate the “War to End All Wars.” Admission is free, but donations are appreciated. The PCC Symphony Orchestra will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Farmville Community Arts Council, 3723 N. Main St., Farmville, and at 3 p.m. Oct. 28 at Edgecombe Community College's Keihin Auditorium, 2009 W. Wilson St., Tarboro. The concerts will include “Selections from West Side Story” by Leonard Bernstein; “Night on Bald Mountain” by Moussorgsky; “L’Arlesienne Suite No. 1” by Bizet; and “Soundtrack Highlights” by John Williams. How to Avoid Scams and Frauds
The Kiwanis Club of Greenville will meet at noon on Tuesday at the G&K Cafe, 3197 E. 10th St. The program will be hosted by Natalie Wood from the N.C.
