The Armor of God Christian Church, 2648 Mill St., Winterville, will host a food distribution from 10 a.m. to noon. The church distributes food to the community every Thursday and Saturday at this time and location. Call 746-8403.
Farmville Senior Council Meeting
The Farmville Senior Council monthly meeting will be held at 1 p.m. at the Soup Kitchen, 3492 S. Walnut St. Seniors age 60 and over are welcome to attend. The topic of the meeting will be the two trips scheduled for Friday and Monday. The Farmville Senior Council is providing daily morning transportation to and from the Senior Center. Call 714-5930.
The Pitt County Aging Coalition will host the Second Annual Purple Gala from 6-9 p.m. at the Greenville Museum of Arts, 802 S. Evans St. The event will feature live music, heavy hors d'oeuvres and spirits and will include a 50/50 raffle and silent auction items. Tickets are $25 each. Anita Hill, women’s and civil rights advocate, will speak from 7-8:30 p.m. in Wright Auditorium on the ECU campus as part of The Voyage of Discovery Series. Her topic will be "Social Movement to Social Impact: Putting an End to Sexual Harassment in the Workplace." Previously purchased tickets will be honored. ECU’s S. Rudolph Alexander Performing Arts series will host VOCES8 at 8 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 401 E. Fourth St. Tickets are $15-$45 each. Toys for Tots
A registration session for families who wish to receive items through Toys for Tots will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at Brown and Wood, Inc., 329 S.W. The Grifton Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary will hold its annual holiday show 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. The show will take place at the fire station, 6881 S. Highland Blvd., Grifton. Pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus
The Martin-Pitt Partnership for Children, a nonprofit in eastern North Carolina that funds programs in quality early child care, will hold a “Texas Ho Ho Ho-Down” from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday at Texas Roadhouse, 720 S.W. Greenville Blvd. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be present for photo opportunities. Each family will receive an email with their family photos, a gift bag and a free kid’s meal.
