During February, Black History Month and the 110th anniversary of the founding of the NAACP, the Pitt County branch of the NAACP has a suggestion for the community.
“Why not invite the NAACP to come and present the amazing history of this great organization during this month?” asked Calvin Henderson, president of the Pitt County branch of the organization.
“I can assure you that during this 110 years of fighting for justice and equality, what the NAACP has done has benefited you or the life of someone in your family, your congregation or those in your community,” he said.
Henderson reminds the community, “We are fighting for children. We need you, you need us, we are all part of God’s family.”
Henderson encourages everyone who cares about justice and equality to become a member of the NAACP.
