A community forum meant to gather input on public education issues that should be considered by the N.C. General Assembly is set at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday at South Central High School in Greenville.
The event will be hosted by the Pitt County Association of Educators and the N.C. Justice Center and will feature panelist from Parents for Public School of Pitt County. The purpose is to identify the most pressing issues for public education advocates to raise during the current legislative session in Raleigh.
The forum will feature parent advocates and leaders in public education, according to organizers. They will offer information about policies affecting the state and community and discuss what needs to change and the type of investments and advocacy are needed.
The event is open to the public, and organizers encourage participants to come and bring their questions.
The event is in the media center at South Central, 570 Forlines Road. Call 919-856-3195 for more information and to RSVP.
