Pitt County men charged with cocaine trafficking

Two men were arrested on Thursday as a result of a two-month drug investigation, according to the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives from the sheriff’s office, with assistance from the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, arrested Raquel Lamonte Atkinson, 26, of 3559 Shackleford St., Farmville, and Travis Earl Jordan, 39, of 703 Peed Drive, Greenville.

Atkinson is charged with two counts of trafficking in cocaine, one count of maintaining a vehicle for controlled substances and five counts of conspiracy to traffic in cocaine, all felonies. He is being held in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $1 million bond.

Jordan is charged with three counts of trafficking in cocaine, one count of maintaining a vehicle for controlled substances and three counts of conspiracy to traffic in cocaine.  He is being held in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $1 million bond.

During the investigation detectives seized almost 568 grams of cocaine with an approximate street value of $60,000, a release said. 

The investigation continues and more arrests are pending.
