Man's blood alcohol level three times over legal limit

A Goldsboro man charged with driving while impaired had a blood alcohol level more than three times over the legal limit, according to Pitt County court records.  

John Earl Murchinson III, 28, of 308 N. Kornegay St., Goldsboro, was stopped at 9 p.m. on April 4 near East 14th Street by the Greenville Police Department.  He had an odor of alcohol on his breath and red, glassy eyes.  His blood alcohol level was 0.25. The legal limit in North Carolina is 0.08.  

Two other people were charged with driving while impaired offenses according to court records and law enforcement reports available between April 7 and April 14.  In those cases, court documents indicate:

■ Jason Lee Taylor, 22, of 1952 Longleaf Lane, Greenville, was stopped at 1:46 a.m. on April 7 near N.C. 43 and Tull Road by the State Highway Patrol. He had red, glassy eyes and a strong odor of alcohol on his breath. He also was unsteady on his feet. His blood alcohol level was 0.13.  Taylor also was charged with driving while license revoked.  

■ Daniel Melton Schiller, 31, of 2306 Roxie Court, Winterville, was stopped at 10:30 a.m. on April 4 near Beacon Drive and Vernon White Road by the Winterville Police Department. Schiller had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath. His blood alcohol level was 0.24. Galindo crossed the centerline and was driving slowly while drinking a Bud Light. He told the trooper he had been drinking.
