Farmers' market

The Leroy James G-Circle Farmers' Market will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesdays from June to September at 203 Government Circle, between the Pitt County Health Department and the Human Services Center. Payment accepted at the market includes EBT/SNAP, 2019 WIC and Senior vouchers, debit or credit and cash.

Retirement forum

A forum focused on retirement benefits for ECU employees will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Willis Building, 3400 E. First St. The State Employees Association of North Carolina District 65 is hosting the event. It will include a complimentary lunch and offer an update on SEANC legislative efforts, information on member discounts and academic scholarships and insurance programs offered through SEANC. Umbrella market 

An Umbrella Market event sponsored by Uptown Greenville will be held from 5-8 p.m. at Five Points Plaza, at the corner of West Fifth Street and Evans. This open-aired market will feature live music, fresh produce, seafood, artisan cheese, handmade arts, jewelry, antiques, local brew and more. Weekly bingo

American Legion Post 39, 403 St. Andrews Drive, holds bingo games each Wednesday. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.; games with prizes begin at 6:30 p.m. Proceeds benefit the military, veterans and families. Call 347-9638 for more information.

Blessing of the Badges

The First Annual Blessing of the Badges, to acknowledge, commemorate and salute the discipline, courage and sacrifice of the Peacekeepers and First Responders of Pitt and Martin Counties, will be held at noon Thursday at St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church, 1295 Mumford Road. Farmville Senior Council 

The Farmville Senior Council's monthly meeting will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Soup Kitchen, 3492 S. Walnut St., Farmville. Crandall and Teel reunion 

The Crandall & Teel Family Reunion will be held June 28-30. The family will begin the reunion with the gathering of family and friends on Friday. The reunion banquet will be held on Saturday at the host hotel, the Holiday Inn, 203 S.W. Greenville Blvd. The reunion will close with a cookout on Sunday. Bookmobile 

The Leroy James farmers' market, 4560 County Home Road, will partner with Sheppard Memorial Library to have the Bookmobile present for the market from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. There will be a story-time at the beginning of each hour, backpacks with information on Bookmobile's summer programs and drawings for children's and adult books.

Fire and Rescue career fair

Greenville Fire and Rescue will sponsor a career fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Fire Station at 3375 E. 10th St. Attendees will take a tour of the station, view specialty equipment and participate in a question and answer session with Fire/Rescue personnel. Light refreshments will be provided for this event.

Humane Society 

The Humane Society of Eastern North Carolina will continue its summer dog washing fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 13, at St. James Methodist Church, 2000 E. 6th St. Services include baths, nail clipping and anal gland expression, and prices vary from $10-15 for each service. All pets must have a copy of the rabies vaccination certificate. All proceeds will benefit the Humane Society. Volunteers are also needed for this event; to volunteer, email HSECVolunteer@gmail.com.
