Tom Basnight made an eagle at Brook Valley Country Club during a recent weekend round.

Basnight scored a 2 of the par-4 seventh hole. He was playing with Jeff Keough, Mike Kachmer and Bill Morris.

Eastern League

An Eastern League event was held recently at Wilson CC.

Ironwood’s leaders were: Dianne Delaney: 3rd Flight, 1st Net; Debbie Pruitt: 3rd Flight, 2nd Gross; Mary Anne Kram: 5th Flight, 2nd Gross. Brook Valley’s leaders were: Donna Taft finished 1st Gross in the 1st Flight with a 76; Deb Antos: 1st Net in the 2nd Flight.

Ayden

Ayden Golf & Country Club will host the first Ayden Shootout on Aug. 5 and 6.

It will be a two-man shootout with a modified superball, best ball and alternate shot format. Cost is $150 per team with a cash payout to the winners. Applications are available in the pro shop and on the AGCC facebook page.

Also, senior and student days are Monday and Thursday, offering 18 holes for $20 anytime.

Bradford Creek

The club is offering youth golf programs this summer, including the upcoming Junior Golf Camp that runs July 25-28.

The camp is for ages 8 to 18 and instruction hours are 9 a.m. to noon each day. Registration for the camp, which is presented by Pitt Community Colldege, can be done online at pittcc.edu/​continuing-education/​explore_summer_camps/.

The club also offers private lessons by junior golf coaches. The cost is $25 per session and can be set up by calling Bradford Creek at 252-329-4653.

Brook Valley

Men’s Night (4th of July theme): 1st place went to the team of Cline Hall, Don Morris, Lee Mulkey and Wade Scales, who shot a 30.

Men's Night (Two-man net scramble): 1st: Dan Schisler & Cline Hall - 30; T-2nd: Jeff Cargile & Rob Burleson - 31; T-2nd: Keith Shupe & Richard Wilson - 31.
