Earlier this month, legendary band The Embers, featuring Craig Woolard, held a benefit concert at Reimage Church for Pitt County Operation Santa Claus.

The concert kicked off the holiday season with old carols and new favorites for nearly 500 attendees.

Thanks to the generous sponsors, including Inner Banks Media, Dixon Food Group, Eastern Trust Real Estate, In Motion Home Digitizing Service, US Lawns of Greenville and Viva Med Concierge Medical Care, every penny from ticket sales was used to buy toys and clothes for underprivileged children in Pitt County through Operation Santa Claus and the Salvation Army.

Altogether, more than $6,000 was netted through ticket sales, all of which was donated.

Plans already are in motion to make the benefit concert an annual event.
