The City of Greenville Purchasing Division was recently named a winner of the 2017 Sustained Professional Purchasing Award by the Carolinas Association of Governmental Purchasing (CAGP).

Purchasing, a division of the Financial Services Department, earned the award for demonstrating excellence in purchasing standards during the calendar year. Criteria for the award include the use of technology, minority outreach, staff certification, customer training, vendor training, and the use of recycled products.

"It is an honor to be given this award," City of Greenville Purchasing Manager Denisha Harris said. "It is an acknowledgement of the level of excellence and professionalism exhibited by the Purchasing Division and a testament to the leadership of the Financial Services Department."

The award will be presented at the CAGP Spring Conference Banquet on March 7, 2018 in New Bern. Greenville's Purchasing Division was one of 13 agencies throughout the CAGP to receive the award.
