Monday, March 5, 2018

Local residents are invited to join the region's business, arts, government and community leaders to celebrate Greenville’s center city.

Uptown Greenville will host the fourth annual State of the District event from 5-7 p.m. on March 6 at the Martinsborough. The event will be a time to celebrate the growth and transformation of the district and to ignite excitement for what is to come.

The evening will feature updates on major district initiatives and Uptown Greenville award presentations. The keynote speaker will be Bill King, urban retail recruiter and vice president of the Downtown Raleigh Alliance.

King tracks data on trends in downtown’s economy, authors the State of Downtown report, liaisons with businesses, developers and city officials, provides policy analysis for issues affecting downtown, and serves on several project teams and taskforces, including for parks, special events, and parking.

King will disuss downtown development as an economic development strategy.

Uptown Greenville invites members of the community to vote on its New Small Business of the Year award. Though seating will be limited, all are invited. Sponsorship opportunities also are available for the State of the District event.

Purchase tickets, vote online and find information on sponsorship at www.uptowngreenville.com.
