Tom Trevathan of North State Steel Inc. has announced that North State Steel has transitioned to a 100 percent employee-owned company effective June 18.

Trevathan will remain active in day-to-day operations as CEO, and will continue to bid new projects.

Trevathan also announced that Jon D. Morgan has accepted the appointment as president and Cathy Allsbrook will continue as CFO.

Morgan, a graduate of the NCSU School of Engineering, started in the shop during college and became full time at North State Steel in December of 2009 in sales and project management. Allsbrook, a graduate of East Carolina University, has been with the company since October 1993 in accounting and office management.

“As always, the entire staff at North State Steel will continue to focus on the same quality, safety, and customer service, we have provided for the past 34 years,” Trevathan said.

“North State Steel supplies fabricated structural steel up and down the east coast and as far west as Oklahoma. We have an incredible team in place and I am fortunate to be a part of it.” Morgan said.
