New specialist joins Vidant Cancer Care

Dr. Jasmin Jo has joined Vidant Cancer Care, offering expertise in neuro-oncology.

This new service marks a milestone for eastern North Carolina, providing additional care for cancers of the brain, spinal cord and nerves.

Jo completed neuro-oncology fellowships at University of Virginia and at the Harvard program at Massachusetts General Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, where she conducted clinical research studies involving patients with brain tumors. She began her education in the Philippines, where she earned her medical degree and completed her first neurology residency. She then came to the United States to pursue a second neurology residency at UVA.

“During my training, I humbly appreciated the courage and hope that my patients and their families have shown,” Jo said. “They inspire me to become the best that I can become as a neuro-oncologist.”

Her priority is to have a meaningful impact on her patients in eastern North Carolina and make significant contributions through clinical research.

“I believe in the importance of the oncology team in providing excellent care and I’m proud to work with a very compassionate and dedicated group,” Jo said.

Jo practices at Vidant Cancer Care, Eddie and Jo Allison Smith Tower, 524 Moye Boulevard in Greenville.

ABC Supply Co. Inc. Promotes Bolt to Manager 

Chad Bolt has been promoted to branch manager of building products distributor ABC Supply Co. Inc.’s location at 937 Woodridge Park Road in Greenville.

Bolt began his career with ABC Supply in 2016 at the Wellford, South Carolina, location where he held several positions. A year later, he graduated from ABC Supply’s Branch Management Training program. Prior to joining ABC Supply, Bolt worked as a project manager for a roofing company.

As manager of the Greenville location, Bolt will use his extensive experience to drive company growth and guide Greenville-area contractors to successfully grow their businesses.

ABC Supply Co. Inc. is the largest wholesale distributor of roofing in the United States and one of the nation’s largest wholesale distributors of select exterior and interior building products.

Howell celebrates 30 years with CopyPro

Sherwood Howell, production print specialist, celebrates 30-year anniversary with CopyPro.

Sherwood, who began his career with CopyPro in 1988 as an entry level field technician, works in the company’s corporate office in Greenville. After suffering a knee injury and having surgery in 1998, he spent nine weeks working in the shop setting up new equipment and working on rebuilds. It was shortly after this, that Sherwood was promoted to shop supervisor. Since then he has been a field service specialist and a field service inspector.

“Sherwood is an integral part of CopyPro’s Service Management Team, sharing his commitment to quality, dedication, and strong work ethic with those around him,” said Richie Creech, director of service.

Sherwood has received many awards and certifications including the Savin Oak Award, two Konica Minolta Silver Seal Awards, and Ricoh’s Prestige Certification. Sherwood was CopyPro’s Top Technical Producer in 2003, 2004, and 2008, and as a member of the Service Management Team, achieved CopyPro’s Outstanding Technical Management award the last two years.

"Sherwood’s extensive knowledge of CopyPro’s operations and history makes him a tremendous asset to the company. He is committed to both the company and the customers we serve, a very rare combination,” said Jason Jones, COO.

A graduate from Charles B. Aycock High School and Wayne Community College, Sherwood lives in Goldsboro. He is married, and he and his wife, of almost 40 years, have three sons.

Powers hired as vp at First National Bank

First National Bank, the largest subsidiary of F.N.B. Corporation, has hired Paul Powers as senior vice president, Greenville market executive for commercial banking in its Eastern North Carolina Region, which extends from Moore County to the coast.

Powers oversees FNB’s commercial banking presence in the Greenville market and serves as a relationship manager for commercial clients, providing access to an industry-leading suite of corporate banking products and services.

Powers joins FNB with more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, all of which has been spent serving the Greenville area in various leadership roles. Prior to FNB, Powers served as senior vice president, market executive for Pitt and Beaufort Counties with Select Bank & Trust. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration from East Carolina University and is a graduate of Louisiana State University’s Graduate School of Banking.

Local Educators Attend NCCAT
