The Pitt County Schools Early College High School recently received visitors from Shaanxi Normal University in Xi’an Province, China.
The 14 students are studying to be teachers and were on a month-long visit to East Carolina University under the direction of Allen Guidry, assistant dean for Planning and Global Engagement in the College of Education.
The students were able to interview a group of the district’s Early College High School student ambassadors, observe classrooms in the school and interview a group of teachers as well.
“Having the chance to interact with these students from China was a wonderful opportunity for our students and teachers to learn about the educational system in another country,” said Wynn Whittington, principal at the early college high school. “We enjoyed sharing about our student-centered educational philosophy with them.”
