New apparel, accessory, and gift store to open in Greenville

From Marfa, an apparel, accessory, and gift store for men, women, and children, is set to open in early spring.

Located at 808 Dickinson Ave, the store will offer a wide range of merchandise.

“There is a general excitement in Greenville about the revitalization of uptown,” said store owner Emily Bruch. “I am very happy to be a part of the community that is building this area one small business at a time.”

From Marfa plans to promote local shopping by offering brands that are not available in Greenville, according to Bruch. The goals are to save families and students from having to travel to bigger shopping centers and to save them money that is being spent on a shipment for online purchases.

From Marfa will have clothing ranging from professional life to casual life including game day wear, beachwear, and everything in between, a news release said. The store will also feature gifts, shoes and toys for children. A gift-wrapping station is a feature of the store.

Originally from Houston, Texas, Bruch said she plans to add a touch of her Texas roots to the feel of this historic building. The name, From Marfa, derived from a West Texas town that is known for its unique art installations.

From Marfa will bring an estimated 6 jobs to the district as well as internship positions for qualified ECU students.
