WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) — Actress Linda Lavin is packing her bags, selling her home in Wilmington and moving to New York.
The StarNews of Wilmington reported (bit.ly/Rp36v3) that the 74-year-old actress and singer already owns an apartment in New York City. Later this month, she and husband Steve Bakunas will close on a 21-acre property in New York's Hudson River Valley.
The Tony- and Golden-Globe-winning actress moved to Wilmington in 1995 after shooting a television movie there with Mary Tyler Moore. She's best known for playing the title role in the long-running sitcom "Alice."
The couple will keep some rental properties. And they're working with members of the Imaginary Theatre Company to transfer stewardship of the Red Barn Studio Theatre, which Lavin and Bakunas have run since 2007.
