GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) — Former Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell is coming to North Carolina to help Lt. Gov. Walter Dalton with his gubernatorial bid, while also promoting a new book he wrote.
Rendell planned to travel with fellow Democrat Dalton Tuesday to see a nanoscience and nanoengineering school in Greensboro led by N.C. A&T State University and UNC-Greensboro. They'll also tour the Red Oak Brewery in nearby Whitsett.
Dalton's campaign also said Rendell would participate in fundraising events for the candidate in Greensboro and Cary and has a book-signing planned for Quail Ridge Books in Raleigh.
Rendell was governor from 2003 until early 2011. He previously served as Philadelphia's mayor and the chairman of the Democratic National Committee.
