FOREST CITY, N.C. (AP) — Gov. Beverly Perdue is heading to western North Carolina to celebrate the expansion of the website Facebook expanding its data center in Forest City.
The governor's office said Perdue will tour Facebook's current data center and meet with Site Operations Director Tom Furlong to talk about the website's decision to build a second data center next door.
Perdue says building the site will bring hundreds of jobs to the Forest City area. Facebook itself will add 10 jobs to the 30 people already employed at the data center.
