RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan is extending his visit to North Carolina by another day.
Mitt Romney's campaign announced the presumptive Republican vice presidential nominee will now hold a round-table discussion on defense issues Thursday in Fayetteville, home of Fort Bragg.
The new event was announced as Ryan planned to attend a Wednesday afternoon rally at a Raleigh power painting company. He was to attend a private fundraiser later at a home in Raleigh.
Ryan began a two-state swing Wednesday morning in Roanoke, Va. Virginia and North Carolina are two states where President Barack Obama put electoral votes in the Democratic column in 2008 for the first time in decades.
Several liberal-leaning groups planned their own rally outside the Raleigh fundraiser to protest Ryan's views on Medicare and taxes.
