MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — Sarah Brock of Tennessee has been named the Distinguished Young Woman of America for 2011.
The Press-Register reports that Danielle DuBose of Alabama was first runner-up and Hannah Roberts of Mississippi was second runner-up in the competition formerly known as America's Junior Miss. The announcement was made Saturday night at the Mobile Civic Center Theater.
The young women were competing for $142,000 in cash scholarships and the chance to represent the program as the Distinguished Young Woman of America of 2011.
The contestants at the 54th annual competition for graduating high school seniors were judged on scholastics, interview, talent, fitness and self-expression.
