The Daily Reflector received 12 awards in the 2008 North Carolina Press Association Best Ads contest, highlighted by three first-place honors and a Gold Star award. The presentations were made during a reception at the Raleigh Sheraton on June 19.
Receiving first-place recognition were Susan Fowle and Susan Pietro in the Best Home Furnishings and Appliance category for an advertisement for Greenville Furniture Direct; and the Reflector staff in the Best Classified section (Homes Weekly) and Best Niche Publication (Her Magazine) categories.

A Gold Star award also was presented to The Daily Reflector staff for Living in Pitt County in the Best Special Section category.
Second-place awards were presented to Bill Hudson and Erin Willis in the Best Restaurant/Entertainment category for an advertisement for Chico's; Fowle, Willis and Jessica Harris in the Best Full-Color Apparel/Jewelry category for an ad for Pizzaz; Graham Bailey and Randy Yiu in the Best Use of Humor category for an ad for Auto Max; Amy Scheidegger in the Best Wild Card category for an ad for The Daily Reflector; and Willis in the Best Newspaper Promotion category for an ad for The Daily Reflector.
Receiving third-place recognition were Bailey and Yiu in the Best Full-Color Motor Vehicle category for an ad for Auto Max; John Lea and Scheidegger in the Best Restaurant category for an ad for Pia's; and the Reflector staff in the Best Classified/Automotive category.
