Simpson Mayor David Boyd retained his seat in Tuesday's election, defeating challenger Andrew Thomas Giordano 86 to 79 in unofficial results.

In the race for the three-member villiage council, incumbent Brenda Gatlin Hawkins was returned to office. The other top vote getters in the six-person race were Clara Thompson and Oscar “Jim” Telfaire.

Bethel

In Bethel, four incumbents — Gloristine Brown, Janet E. Davis, Ed Dennis Jr. and Carl Wilson — were returned to office along with challenger Cheryl J. Whitehurst. Six people ran for the town board.
