ACLU: Feds denying basic rights to workers caught in immigration raid

The American Civil Liberties Union on Wednesday accused the Departments of Justice and Homeland Security of denying basic legal protections to workers arrested at a large immigration raid in Postville, Iowa, last week.

In a press release, the ACLU says: “The U.S. Attorney’s Office and DHS have implemented a troubling system that appears to be designed to undermine fairness and due process by criminally prosecuting the over 300 immigrant workers for identity theft and fraud and rushing them through criminal proceedings with insufficient legal representation.”

The raids have been controversial leading Hispanic lawmakers on Capitol Hill to denounce what they called “inhumane” tactics by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, known as ICE.

ICE has denied the accusations.

“ICE conducts its law enforcement operations lawfully, professionally, and humanely,” said James Spero, deputy assistant director of ICE’s Office of Investigations.

Spero made the remarks at a House hearing Tuesday.

He also said that ICE takes “extraordinary steps to identify, document, and act appropriately” regarding humanitarian concerns of people encountered during the raids, including cooperation with public health and social service agencies.

Congratulations to our “Feds” for “criminally prosecuting the many Illegal Aliens for identity theft and fraud.”

“Communist History of the Most Dangerous Organization In America”

[‘Roger Baldwin once stated: “I am for socialism, disarmament, and, ultimately, for abolishing the state itself… I seek the social ownership of property, the abolition of the propertied class, and the sole control of those who produce wealth. Communism is the goal.”

The Stop The ACLU BlogBurst has maintained since its founding on March 18 of 2005, that the ACLU is a Communist front organization which has been operated in a fashion contrary to the best interests of Americans by hiding under a cloak of protecting the civil liberties of all Americans. This has been a brilliant way for these Communists to hide and enlist the assistance of individuals ignorant to their true goals.

The Congressional Record of September 20, 1961 has a few interesting points to be made about the leadership of the American Civil Liberties Union and their Communist connections.’]

Why do people who are breaking out laws and not citizens, have any rights to begin with? Our laws and rights should be for citizes and people who do things right only, not people who steal ids, commit crimes to be here.

“ICE to illegals: We’ll ‘find you and send you home’”

“13 teams of agents bust more than 900 criminal aliens in California”
[‘More than 900 illegal aliens have been sent packing after a three-week U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement operation in California.

Half of the criminal aliens and fugitives arrested during the statewide sting have already been sent to their home countries. Since a large number of the illegals have faced previous deportation, immigration authorities immediately ousted them from the U.S.

The rest remain in police custody, awaiting travel arrangements for deportation or hearings before an immigration judge.

Brian DeMore, acting field officer director for ICE detention and removal operations in Los Angeles, issued a press release about his team’s success.

“ICE is committed to protecting the integrity to this country’s immigration system and that means ensuring that the removal orders handed down by the nation’s immigration courts are carried out,” he said. “As a country, we welcome law-abiding immigrants, but foreign nationals who violate our laws and commit crimes in our communities should be on notice that ICE is going to use all of the tools at its disposal to find you and send you home.”’]
