Elizabeth Dole blogs on immigration

Sen. Elizabeth Dole of North Carolina said on her campaign blog Tuesday that “liberal politicians in Raleigh” were partly to blame for the state’s big increase in illegal immigrants.

“They’ve come here for two primary reasons. First, North Carolina has historically had a growing economy, so there were jobs. Second, the liberal politicians in Raleigh were very slow to address our lax laws regarding identification, so it was very easy to get a driver’s license in North Carolina,” she said.

Dole, who is facing a tough challenge from Democratic state Sen. Kay Hagan, is making the fight against illegal immigration a centerpiece of her campaign.

Her first television ad released last week touted a program that helps local police partner with federal agencies to identify, apprehend and deport illegal immigrants convicted of crimes.

According to Politico, the state-wide ad buy cost about $500,000 — a sizable chunk of the $3.2 million Dole reported in mid-April, in her latest filing report.

On the blog, Dole also quoted figures from the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) about the cost of illegal immigrants to North Carolina. FAIR, which advocates lower levels of immigration, has been designated as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, a civil rights organization based in Montgomery, Ala.

FAIR is not a hate group. The SPCL is. Also La Raza(the Race), MALDEF, LULAC, MeChA, Mexicanos Sin Fronteras (Mexicans Without Borders) and others that promote hispanic supremacy are.

Right you are zeezil & support for Illegal Aliens is dying while support for secure borders is growing.

“New Georgia law requires police to check immigration status of jailed drivers”

[‘A new Georgia law, effective July 1, establishes a two-day mandatory minimum jail sentence for anyone convicted a first time of driving without a license. The measure also makes it a felony to drive without a license on the fourth conviction in a five-year period.

The law requires jailers to check the nationality and legal status of those convicted and to report anyone in the U.S. illegally to immigration officials for deportation.

‘This bill addresses a serious problem in Georgia, which is people driving without ever having been issued a driver’s license,’ said state Sen. John Wiles (R-Kennesaw), sponsor of Senate Bill 350. ‘People are dying as a result of these drivers, and the law is necessary for public safety,’ he said.

Cpl. David Schiralli of the Gwinnett County Police Department said it’s likely illegal immigrants be arrested for violations because they have no way to legally obtain a Georgia driver’s license. ‘Illegals who work have to get to work one way or another. You’d think they probably know they’re breaking the law to get there.”]

It’s the typical pro amnesty argument. Anyone who wants to enforce our immigration laws is a nativist, racist, xenophobe or whatever name they can think of. I really don’t give a damn what you want to call me. We must take a zero tolerance towards ALL illegal immigration. It’s costing this nation 386 billion annually. Enough already! You say we can’t do without illegal aliens? I guess we’ll just have to do our best. Go back to your home country and come back legally or not at all. Anyone hiring illegals needs to be arrested and jailed. This must end now before our nation is ruined beyond all hope. Thank you ICE! We appreciate all your efforts.

Regardless of race, or anything else, WE NEED TO GET BACK TO THE LAW AND ORDER COUNTRY we were.

Illegals keep saying they have the RIGHT to be here. That is because we have turned a blind eye. Of course, this was a sneak attack..20 million people hav emebedded themselves in our home and finally, their numbers became so great, we were finally able to SEE them everywhere.

Law works! In Oklahoma nad Arizona the unemployment figures have gone down because they are losing the illegal workers! Elsewhere (the other 48 states) unemployment has ncreased. Now, more than ever, we need to oust leeches sucking on the American teat.

Where were Liz and her party on immigration when they held all the power in Washington? Maybe she should be running on “we didn’t do diddly on immingation when we were in power, but we will sure TELL you we will do better if you put us back in power”.

Fascinating side point here. North Carolina is desperately seeking Federal Money to upgrade and deal with their children’s schools. A lot of money in fact. Of course, they didn’t tell us the children in those schools were the children of the illegal aliens. Thanks North Carolina.. hope you lose.

Kentucky is one of the “dumb” states, as they sit and watch things get worse. Lexington has gang murders, graffatt, drug dealers, bus loads of people getting off a Mexican bus in a local neighborhood, (bus was stopped in Tenn. with drugs and guns destine for Lexington), human trafficing and the list goes on and on. Our elected officals (mayor)does NOTHING about it. He wants to keep a good repoir with the illegal hispanics !! Therefore the American Citizens aren’t important to him. Parts of the city mothers can’t let their children out to play in the park, as gun shots ring out.

As you may recall, Barack Obama kicked A** in North Carolina and Democratic Senatorial Candidate, Kay Hagen, is closing in on incumbent GOP Senator Elizabeth Dole. The latest polling shows Hagen within 5 points of Dole. In a move to shore up her support, Dole has resorted to a ploy from the tired old Republican playbook of the politics of hate. Dole has started catterwalling about “illegal immigration” with an expensive ad campaign. Unfortunately for Dole, the illegal immigrant canard does not have the traction as a wedge issue that gay marriage and abortion once did. Look for a major fizzle on this issue, but if Dole wants to spend big bucks on ineffective and tired wedge issues all the better for Hagen.

Moscoso is engaging in some serious yellow journalism to by using the SPLC to cast aspersion on FAIR. A cursory examination of SPLC’s practices would reveal that the conflate groups not subscribing to their own left-wing ideologies with actual hate groups to facilitate the avoidance of dealing with real arguments. And the organization itself is just a fund raising machine. Read “The Church of Morris Dees” published in Harper’s magazine.

Razzo,

Your are wrong about illegal immigration. It is absolutely one of the major “hidden” issues on America’s mind. Those thiefs of democracy at CNN, MSNBC and that whore, the DNC (all of whom colluded to rig, through media bias their own Democratic nomination process. Democrats did this to their fellow Democrats. I am ashamed to have called myself a Dem.

Never in life have I seen Democrats behave in such an unfair and cold fashion. We can no longer trust CNN and their brethren with the sacred necessity of accurate reporting. Remember, first they take control of the media, so the population will simply fall in line when required to do. May we now address ourselves as Republicans? You Obama Freaks that have been hypnotized can attempt to sway opinions away from the important work that needs to be done securing our nation from any and all threats, but you will not succeed.

Sali: Congress has failed to address energy needs
By Congressman Bill Sali

[‘Last December, I criticized the energy bill that Congress was about to pass. “This bill,” I wrote, “would virtually guarantee higher energy prices. Gas prices would go up. It would cost more to heat our homes. Without question, this bill would send the economy into a tailspin and do nothing to give Americans relief at the pump.”

Then, I added, “Everyone I know thinks $3 for a gallon of gas is already too high. But if this bill became law we would all yearn for the days of $3 gas.” That bill - which I voted against - did become law. And now, just six months later, my warnings seem prophetic. Drivers are paying about $4 a gallon. Many of us spend $50 to $100 every time we fill up our tank. Such high prices affect the ability of Idahoans to get to work, drive their kids to the doctor or even buy the simple necessities of life.

Congress has restricted American crude oil production and exploration on American soil. There are also billions of barrels of oil and trillions of cubic feet of natural gas to be found in the Outer Continental Shelf, but Congress has barred drilling there as well. Did you know that Cuba has invited India, Norway, Spain and China to drill for oil just off the U.S. coast? And, Cuba is now in talks with dictator Hugo Chavez to allow Venezuela to tap into this oil cache as well. Yet Congress has made it illegal for the U.S. to do the same. This is flat out wrong.

I think the U.S. should be tapping into these huge resources and I think we should do it today.

One of government’s primary duties is to create an environment where people who work hard can prosper. Today there can be no doubt that Congress has failed in that duty.

Current conditions are putting many Americans in a real crisis. Many are at the breaking point.

But Congress is not taking the steps needed to get those things done. Democrat Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, has admitted that “certainly more supply lowers the price.” Unfortunately, beyond making that statement, she has done nothing to boost supply.

She said two years ago that Democrats had a “commonsense plan” to lower gas prices. But, I say, “If you have a plan, why not put it in place?” I fear that her only plan was the “energy bill” that was passed last December. That has only gotten us higher prices. Unfortunately, she and her colleagues have consistently opposed the real solution to ending reliance on foreign oil by increasing production of American crude oil.

I find this stunning in large part because our dependency on foreign oil is so unnecessary. In 1980, the then-Democrat Congress – under then-President Jimmy Carter – set aside the 2,000 acres in Alaska for oil and gas development. After that Democrats changed their tune. In 1996 Congress voted to explore and produce crude oil from those lands, but President Clinton vetoed that bill. Since then, every time Congress has attempted to open up those resources, the Democrats have mounted the primary opposition to that action. They have consistently voted to keep American resources locked up.

If we are to remain prosperous, America needs energy from every source possible. This means that we must develop and produce oil and natural gas. It also means we must be innovative in conserving energy and in producing alternative and renewable sources of energy, including woody bio-mass, wind, solar and hydropower. Congress must not, in some sad tribute to the cramped ideology of an extreme agenda, fail to allow the use of the resources we possess within our borders and within our technological and economic grasp. America needs a sound energy policy that Speaker Pelosi and her “plan” have failed to provide.’] Link - http://sali.congressnewsletter.net/mail/util.cfm?gpiv=1999895299.5611.590&gen=1
