Greenville will be Palin’s first N.C. stop
Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is making Greenville her first campaign stop in North Carolina on Tuesday, the former party chairman said today.
The Alaska governor will appear in Minges Coliseum on the campus of East Carolina University on Tuesday night. The exact time of her appearance hasn’t been set, but the doors to the public will open at 4 p.m., said Ferrell Blount, a Bethel resident, former state GOP chairman and current senior adviser to John McCain’s presidential campaign.
The appearance is part of the McCain-Palin Victory Tour. Tickets are free and will be available Friday afternoon at all 14 Victory campaign headquarter locations throughout North Carolina, including the Greenville office on Commerce Street, Blount said. Information about the other locations is available at www.ncgop.org.
“For Republican candidates, eastern North Carolina has been a decisive area where campaigns are won,” Blount said.
Blount said Alaska and North Carolina have many similarities, and because of that Palin’s values are very similar to those of eastern North Carolina families.
Palin supports the military, is concerned about the environment and knows what it is like to balance a family budget, Blount said.
Blount said he’s met Palin and found her delightful. “Not in a big, grand dramatic way, but on a personal level,” he said. Eastern North Carolinians will see her as a common-sense person.
“I think the people here will enjoy hearing a real person,” he said. “This is an opportunity where we can have a big day in North Carolina.”
Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama has had a strong presence in Greenville since before the Democratic primary.
Obama spoke in Greenville in April and in recent weeks his campaign volunteers have canvassed neighborhoods and held potluck events in so people can discuss his agenda.
The campaign also and has had several proxies ranging from politicians to television personalities visit the community.
Blount said Obama has spent a lot of time, energy and money in the state and this has generated a lot of recognition and talk.
However, he believes when voters mark their ballot they are going to want a president with McCain’s years of legislative and military experience.
“I think when all is said and done McCain-Palin will carry North Carolina handily,” Blount said.
Minges Coliseum holds about 8,000 people, Blount said. When President George W. Bush appeared there in 2001, the venue was filled to capacity and large crowds were left outside.
“We are gong to have some access outside for overflow crowds,” Blount said.

Their are going to be at least 20,000 people attending this event, more than the 10,000 Obama turned out for his speach at Minges. Palin is going to beat Biden tonight in the debate. She is smart and she is an expert at gas policies and managing her family and running a large state like Alaska. She has more experience than Obama and her working as a mayor is more than Obama comunity orgnizing and she is a christian unlike Obama and she is good at economics and will help McCain gets us bak on top of the world and win the war in Iraq while Obama wants us too pull out of Iraq. USA Go Palin

The McCain/Palin ticket is a disgrace and about as unamerican as you can get. They are both a joke. Anyone who even thinks of voting for them should never be allowed to vote in another election. I don’t care that she can balance her families budget, she has NO place being a heartbeat away from the White House period!!!

It has become increasingly clear that Palin is a nitwit who can’t even answer a simple question about what newspapers she reads on a daily basis. Duh! I doubt she reads any newspapers, or does anything to keep up with current affairs.
It’s been shown over and over again that Barack Obama is NOT Muslim and does not hate America. Maybe YOU need to read some newspapers or watch something besides Fox News to get your facts straight.
Let’s talk about experience:
Obama spent 3 years as a community organizer, become the first black president of the Harvard Law Review, create a voter registration drive that registers 150,000 new voters, spend 12 years as a Constitutional Law professor, spend 8 years as a State Senator representing a district with over 750,000 people, become chairman of the state Senate’s Health and Human Services committee, spend 4 years in the United States Senate representing a state of 13 million people while sponsoring 131 bills and serving on the Foreign Affairs, Environment and Public Works and Veteran’s Affairs committees, you’re a not-to-be trusted pointy-headed intellectual and don’t have any real leadership experience.
Palin’s - attended 8 different schools to complete her undergrad degree, local weather girl, 4 years on the part-time city council and 6 years as the mayor of a town with less than 7,000 people which had a budget surplus before she came into office and only to leave it several million dollars in debt, 20 months as the governor of a “large” state (as you put it) with only 650,000 people, and now some say that she is qualified to become the country’s second highest ranking executive.
Go Figure…facts, just the facts.

The problem which is not addressed is that 90% of people live paycheck to paycheck, this leaves everyone a couple hundred a week maybe to play with. When gas, electric, schooling, groceries, eating out ect. went sky high, everyone lost the play, began to live on credit hoping for improvement, in prices or their income. Neither came people began to live on credit, and refinancing, hoping for better times. With higher interest rates and ridiculous fees rose, all that was left was homes. No prospect of a second job, none to have. Our politicians are out of touch people have nothing left to give even when they give it their all. ets try fixing this problem.

Let’s be honest. Palin is kind of a joke as a VP selection. She was selected in order to attract female voters to counter balance Obama’s appeal to minorities. I find it to be ridiculous that people would vote republican just to see a women in a high office, but unfortunately they will. If you support her politics, vote for her. If you support the fact that she’s a woman, that’s silly. And please, nobody in Greenville knew who she was prior to her nomination, so really people, you don’t support her politics. Now Obama supporters…Ease up on Palin. While he may be smarter than she is, he isn’t exactly the model of experience either. The Democratic party likes to advance young, well spoken, “electable” men regardless of what they’ve accomplished. John Edwards was a senator for how long before they trotted him out there? If you know the answer, than you might be smart enough to see similarities in how the party has handled Obama. Don’t get me wrong, Obama may be incredibly capable of being the President, however, at this point in time, he is nominated because he is young, handsome, and speaks well in public. That’s all. He has no record whatsoever to stand on….kinda like Palin. Long story short, both party’s are banking on you to vote for something asthetically appealing rather than substance.

K, I did some research. She’s totally not qualified to be VP. And since McCain is incredibly old and a survivor of multiple instances of stage 2a melanoma (kills 34% within 10 years apparently), we should really be asking whether she’s qualified to be PRESIDENT. And she’s not. You may want to believe she is—and that’s cool—but she really isn’t. If you watched that debate tonight and thought “man, I sure wish she was in charge of the most powerful military in the history of humankind” or thought “if only Sarah Palin was guiding us through this economic crisis,” then whatever—vote for her. But seriously, it’s a sign of the end times that she’s even on a major party ticket.
My honest right wing friends have the sense not to even bring her up.

Sarah Palin is just as or more qualified than George H.W. Bush was for Reagan, or Dan Quayle was for 41. In the final analysis McCain and Obama are running. He is a Johnny come lately just like Johhny Edwards; all a bunch of elitist left wing liberals.

If you are truly happy with banks closing, home foreclosures, 4000 innocent troops dead, 500,000 to 1,000,000 innocent iraqis dead, constant lies from the White House, $4.00 to $5.00 gas prices, disappearing 401k, highest health insurance in the free world, ranking behind asian nations in education, attacking countries that have not attacked us, being despised around the world, and continuing to have a divided nation, then go ahead and vote John Mccain and Palin. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE!!

Wow… some obvious fear from the obamabots in the comments section for this story…
Experience is something they shouldn’t even mention when their “chosen one” (we all know he’s the messiah, right?) has not the experience to lead the country out of a paper bag…

THE BIG STORY I am glad that Gov. Palin is coming to visit us in Greenville. It makes you feel as though they are actually asking for you vote when they come into your town. She did a heckuva job last night. This election is more than an election about the advance of women and minorities. It’s about candidates coming up with great ideas to improvong the system and then actually implementing the system once they get into office. I am for smaler government and not a big fan of the bailout package that george bush and the democrats have pushed hard for. I do believe that with only $35 billion in insurance the same safety net would have been set and the weak companies would fail creating a demand in the marketplace that would enevitably be filled by the market. That’s true capitalism. i am not a fan of socialism and I only wish Fred Thompson were running on his federalist principles. Since he is not on the ballot, I can only stand behind McCain who has a proven track record. It is what it is! Tommy O

If Palin is such a joke, why are all you dems so scared of her?
Obama caused the mortgage meltdown with his support of ACORN. He was a trainer for ACORN and they coerced banks using thug tactics into providing loans to people who could not afford them. We are paying $700 billion dollars for this mess now. Obama plus several other dems are the reason that it happened. He promises to make our already bloated govenment bigger than it is now. Our economy will almost certainly collapse.
McCain and Palin are the only chance to clean up our bloated government. He can’t say now how much cleaning he is going to do but the economy will not survive without it.

I posted this in another blog and I am going to post this again with the copy and paste from my computer. Both John McCain and Sara Palin love America unlike Osama and Biden and both John McCain and Sara Palin represent true American values and beliefs. I like how Palin lowered gas prices in Alaska and how she lowered the prices of stuff and taxes in Alaska and how she is a maverick like John McCain. I also like the fact that they are going to bring about reforms to Washington because it has been run by the same politicians for too long. I like their plans for small government and giving it back to the people. There has been too much regulation given to democrates. Palin has done a lot for a big state like Alaska which is bigger than our state so she is qualified to run this country since she will be a heartbeat away. We will drill in Alaska and drill off shore with McCain and Palin while we will rely on weaker energy in using the sun and wind and water that Osama and Biden is supporting.

If you were the boss, who would you hire???
OBAMA: Harvard law professor, Juris Doctor of law degree, constitutional law expert, Senate committees: foreign affairs, homeland security, veterans affairs, family, education, health.
BIDEN: Juris Doctor of law degree, Senate committees: Foreign affairs (chair), economy, health, crime, women’s affairs, education, technology, environment
McBUSH: graduated from the naval academy in the bottom 5% of his class, senate committees: economy, environment, official conduct (arguably the 3 biggest Republican failures!!!!!!!!!)
PITBULL PALIN: went to 6 different universities before finally getting a BA degree in journalism, no domestic or foreign policy experience but can see Russia from her house.
SERIOUSLY, THIS IS A NO BRAINER!!!!
If you vote McBush/Pitbull, the fate of your country will be in jeopardy. Everyone here in Europe is laughing at Americans—- America has become the butt of all jokes—- people are asking, how can they seriously consider voting for McBush and his Pitbull for another 4 years of Bush’s failed policies? Don’t they ever learn???
Remember the frontpage headline of London’s Daily Mirror newspaper back in 2004 when Americans re-elected Bush: HOW CAN 59 MILLION PEOPLE BE SO DUMB?

I would hire Obama!! He’s got my vote. After all, he is intellectually head and shoulders above the rest, and a keen intellect is what this country needs for a change.
