Sunday, Mar. 8, Ga. Southern 14- ECU 4
Georgia Southern blew up the seventh inning in the finale of the Holiday Inn Eagle Invitational, scoring eight runs while taking a 6-4 ballgame and putting it of reach for East Carolina. Sthil Sowers (1-1) took the loss, but it was true freshman Mike Wright who surrendered four runs in a third of a inning that sealed the deal. With the win, GSU leads the series 12-10 and is 11-1 for the year.

All Pirate pitching for this game was wild. Two GSU batters were hit by pitched balls. A number of pitches hit the ground several feet ahead of home plate. Many were high. My Pirates appeared to have totally lost it in the bottom half of the 2nd inning. GSU pitching was great. Some Pirate batters liked to swing at low outside pitches which they missed.
