ELIZABETH CITY — Sentara Healthcare would have leasing rights to Albemarle Hospital for the next century, according to the lease agreement Pasquotank County and the Norfolk, Va.-based health care agency have struck.
Pasquotank released its proposed lease agreement with Sentara on Monday, beginning a 10-day inspection period that officials for both parties hope will end with the county Board of Commissioners formally approving the deal on Feb. 27 and Sentara taking over Albemarle’s operations next month.
“I’m glad we’re at the finish line, or almost at the finish line,” Mary Anne Keyes, chairwoman of the Hospital Authority board, said Monday evening.
