Burns: Wild turkeys come calling

The front door to The Daily Reflector doesn’t open until 8:30 a.m., but sometimes folks arrive before that, and we let them in.

A knock resonating early Tuesday drew Eric Murphy from the customer care office in the rear of our building.

To his surprise, he found a wild turkey pecking at its reflection in one of the glass panels.

Wow

Turkeys are one of the dumbest birds on earth and you quote this?

"The turkey could become a symbol of pride, just like Ben Franklin proposed when he suggested the United States adopt it as its national bird." <-- you must be kidding.

I think you should be working at a zoo. A little to obsessed there with turkeys.

Blackbeard's A Meanie

Of course the quote contributed to the article. I'm not sure how you can't see it. The lack of hunters in the area means the turkey's are less afraid of the people around.

Why must you find something negative in a fun story like this? Lighten up Blackbeard before we make you walk the plank!

Cool, fun story for Thanksgiving Mr. Burns! Thanks!

Guns

So, turkeys can tell if you have a gun?

And I quote, "There is no hunting in Indigreen, so the birds feel at home."

So, why would anyone have a gun unless it is concealed?

I don't see how your comment in any way contributed to the story. I was taught in journalism, if it does not add to the story, don't print it. Every thing that gets printed that is not necessary, raises the possibility that something necessary will not get space it needs.

Just my $0.01 as I don't have $0.02 any more.
