Who knew that it would be something as innocuous as the schedule that would set the East Carolina men's basketball team apart from most of the rest of the teams in the country this season.

First-year ECU coach Jeff Lebo may yet do other things to make the Pirates stand out, but he already deserves a thumbs up for playing a schedule, at least the next portion of it, that very few coaches are willing to face.

After playing five consecutive home games, also a rare occurrence, the Pirates will hit the court in a coliseum not named Minges the next five times they lace up their game-day Nikes.
