In an apparent effort to appear more culturally relevant, Scrabble has gone — well — just a little overboard. Word nerds from Australia to Washington state began blogging last week after the announcement that Collins Official Scrabble Words had expanded to include “blingy” (from “bling,” meaning flashy) “thang,” (a gross misspelling and mispronounciation of the word “thing”) and “grrl” (a woman with an attitidue).

Ridiculous, innit? (slang for isn't it, a slang abbreviation which also made the list.)
